Volume one of a two-volume series - 'Pastiche' - containing articles written by Australian historians which cover major issues in the history of white Australia before 1900. Includes reinterpretations of race relations, political culture, class antagonisms, urban and rural experience, sexual politics in the family and the public sphere, and popular cultural practices. All the articles have previously appeared elsewhere. Includes an index. Both editors lecture in history at the University of Sydney.

The University does not edit this information and merely includes it as a convenience for users. It does not warrant that reviews are accurate. As with any review users should approach reviews critically and where deemed necessary should consult multiple review sources.
