general note
Maureen Rossong ;Halifax Regional Municipality, NS ;Animation Hothouse. ;kk ;Animation Studio.
Jacob Bauming is a fan of extreme animation, and his film is a marvellous manifestation of this. A whirling dervish of sensory overload, Aquasnazz has a tenuous connection to snazzy "aquatics," using them as a trigger for Bauming's wild and manic imagination. Take six promising animation filmmakers from across Canada, plant them in the NFB's English Animation Studio, give them 12 weeks to create extremely short animation from concept to release with the full support and assistance of NFB creative experts and, voilà, the NFB Animation Hothouse! This is a practical prototype to both "talk the talk" of theory, and "walk the walk" of actually doing it.
