Regenerative medicine for the repair of connective tissues is a fast moving field which generates a lot of interest. The biomaterials and biomechanics for soft tissue repair has been under-represented in the past, particularly the natural association between cartilage, tendons, and ligaments is often not made. This book address this gap by exploring the natural association of cartilage, tendons, and ligaments to provide a review of the different structures, biomechanics and, more importantly, provide a clear discussion of practical techniques and biomaterials which may be used to repair the connective tissues.

The book is based on consultation experiences gained in the process of helping four mills that are running their ring frames at the highest spindle speed in the world. It examines economics of high-speed spinning and ends up predicting the future of high speed spinning technology. It includes four live case studies of spinning mills in India that are running their ring frames successfully. This information can them be used to outline a practical plan of action to redesign current mills or design new ones.

However, those areas of biomaterials and biomechanics associated with soft tissue repair have not received adequate attention, particularly concerning the natural association of various types of connective tissue including cartilage, tendons, and ligaments and common approaches in their repair.
