The majority of the plates are after paintings by Westall (22), Hamilton (23) and Smirke (24). There are several, however, by Fuseli (9), Boydell (6), Romney (4), Wheatley (12), Peters (5), Northcote (10), Opie (5), Tresham (3) and Stothard (2) and many others.
The plates are engraved by Starling in outline only.
