A Look Inside
Full Text Reviews
Appeared in Choice on 2005-12-01:
This timely, much-needed book fills a niche between the very general and very specific items that are currently available and provides an international perspective for a general audience. The 136 entries, written by 99 contributors, include information from the social sciences, natural sciences, engineering, and physical sciences, and deal with a variety of topics related to security and bioterrorism. Each entry provides a list of contents, and the major headings are boldfaced in the text to allow easy location of useful information. Most entries provide some background or an introduction to the topic, as well as references for further reading. Occasional images, tables, and figures enhance the text. The well-written entries present useful, relevant information in a highly understandable manner. The white paper and dark text are easy on the eyes, the binding is tight and sturdy, and the paper is thick enough to provide long-term use. This encyclopedia will be very useful for general queries and for anyone seeking readable, authoritative information related to bioterrorism. Extensive index. ^BSumming Up: Highly recommended.
