Summaries
Unpaid Annotation
The E-2C Hawkeye is the U.S. Navy's all-weather airborne early-warning aircraft and an integral component of the Navy's carrier air wing. Many E-2Cs are approaching their service life limits. The authors analyze the costs, benefits, and risks of purchasing new aircraft, retrofitting or refurbishing old aircraft to extend their service lives, or some combination of these options. They also make recommendations designed to best meet the Navy's future operational performance requirements.
