abstract
"Simon loves music but he is puzzled. When he plays his merry flute for the lambs, they ignore him. When he plays sad cowboy songs for the horses, they neigh in protest. Even his harp can't charm the swans. What is wrong with the music he is making? With a little help from his friend Marlene, Simon finds the surprising answer, and learns a delightful lesson about the true nature of music."

Summaries
Main Description
Simon wants to share his love of music with the animals. He tries to get them to play along with his flute, trumpet, cowbells, guitar, harp, violin, drums, and xylophone, but find the animals uninterested. When an old accordionist tells Simon that animals listen to music all their own, Simon invites his friends to form an orchestra...with surprising results.
