general note

This newsletter starts with the story of Jesus telling his disciples that he will suffer, that he will be killed, and that in three days he will return. Then there are various letters and updates from Catholic missions in South and North Dakota. There is a note on what amount of funds has been gathered for making a church at “Padani Tipi” (Pawnee/Arikara?). This issue also contains a “Supplement” from Our School Children’s Department. The supplement starts with “A Legend of Easter” (in English). Then there are letters to Father Jerome from (1) Holy Rosary Mission (Pine Rise, SD), and (2) Ft. Yates Agricultural Boarding School. There is a note on the rank of Easter Sunday in the Catholic tradition, and how the Church and the people celebrate/observe this festival each year. There is also a note on names of “famous Catholics” who participated the conquest and dissemination of Catholicism in the Americas. The issue closes with some news items and stories, including one of “Jesus as a good caretaker” (in Dakota).
