The Theater Buildings Collection from the Harry Ransom Center is an unusual and fascinating visual collection of illustrations, engravings and photographs of theatres - many now pulled down - in America and Europe. The material includes images of both the interior and exterior views of theatres. The majority of the venues are located in the United States, mainly New York City, but theatres in other cities and countries are represented, particularly English theatres. The collection also includes newspaper clippings, theatre tickets, architectural design plans and seating plans, and materials relating to: Oscar Hammerstein, Benjamin Franklin Keith, Thomas W. Lamb, Frank Matcham, The Shubert Brothers, Metro Goldwyn Mayer (MGM), and the Really Useful Group.
