Victoria University Library copy inscribed by William Blake in pen and ink on the first flyleaf "Wm Blake" twice, once with great ornamental flourish, together with "William Blake" and "Wm Blake his my name". Top of the page inscribed by Henry Marsh, possible former owner. "William Blake" inscribed twice on title page with the date "May 29 1773", a possible date of purchase. The name "William Milles" also inscribed in centre of title page. On verso of title page is inscribed twice "William Blake his Book". The verso of Plate 38 in pen and ink is inscribed the name of "Mary Cary". Barely legible handwriting may also be seen on this leaf as well as on the verso of Plates 9 and 64. Acquired by William Blake, possibly as dated on the title page, when Blake was age 16 and apprenticed to the engraver James Basire. For futher information see : Phillips, Michael.
