abstract
Looks at the practice of Sihk faith from India, in Canada. The gurdwara or temple is the house where the holy book, the "Guru" of the Sikh faith, is kept, and where the head priest lives. The film looks at a day in the life of a Vancouver gurdwara and includes the rites of baptism, marriage and a funeral while explaining the philosophy underlying each of them. From the early rising of the priest until the book is returned to rest at night, a day in the gurdwara is one of traditional ceremony and simple devotion.
